My Story

I need your help,

Over Christmas 2020, my 17 year old cousin Tom had an unexpected seizure. By the end of March, my family recieved the devastating diagnosis that the seizure was caused by an agressive brain tumour with limited treatment options. The cancer is a Glioblastoma Forme Grade 4.

Overnight our lives turned upside down. Tom started to recieve treatment at St James' Hospital in Leeds, travelling 150 miles each day from home in Scarborough for Radiotherapy. Unfortunately recent scans have shown this has not prevented further growth of the tumour.

During this incredibly challenging time, the fantastic Candlelighters  Children's Cancer Charity in Leeds  has supported my family. We are indebted to them.

Candlelighters need vital funds to help ensure they can continute to support the next family who needs them. So with that in mind, I have roped in a group of my best friends and family to undertake a mammoth challenge to help raise money.

The Lyke Wake walk is a 42 miles trek across the North Yorkshire Moors, to be completed in one go, in 24 hours. That's around 100,000 steps in a single day. Its a gruelling hike across rugged moorland and forestry to the coast at Ravenscar; undoubtedly the most ambitious activity any of the group have attempted.

I need your help.

We need your money.

The commuting petrol you avoid paying as you're working from home, the starbucks coffees and pret sandwiches. That last pint at the pub you're going to regret in the morning. Send the cash our way instead.

Please give what you can to support this cause.

Thank you,

Harriet and the Hutchinson/Allen's xxx
